ASEBA stands for Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment.

The ASEBA assessment system comprises questionnaires, interviews and observation lists for reporting emotional and behavioral problems. All instruments are developed by Thomas M. Achenbach from the University of Vermont, U.S.A.

The questionnaires can be filled out by parents or surrogates and teachers about children and adolescents aged 1½ -18 years old. A self-report questionnaire is available for adolescents aged 11-18. For adults, a self-report questionnaire as well as a parallel questionnaire for obtaining reports from people who know the adult well, e.g. a spouse or partner, are available.
